We have chosen!

Great news! We've decided on what charity we want our initial charity fee to support. After reviewing all of the Mongol Rally's official charities, our decision was easy.

The Jersey Boys have chosen as our official charity...

FRANK Water

For every 1L of water sold, FRANK Water pledges 200L of clean drinking water to a developing country.

"Award winning social entrepreneur, Katie Alcott, 29, created FRANK in 2005 after suffering dysentry from drinking dirty water in India. Witnessing the rise of bottled water sales in the UK, she dreamt of the Water-for-Water concept - creating an ethical bottled water brand that would benefit worldwide clean water projects...FRANK funds sustainable projects that provide clean, safe drinking water by installing the world's most effective water filtering process - 5 stage, UV filtering technology, built into a community owned and run facilities." -from www.frankwater.com

Alex and I have decided to throw our support behind FRANK water because it addresses a crucial problem facing the world today: availability of clean water. Too often are people accosted with pleas to give money to charities whose true purpose is unclear. Many of these charities, while admirable, give no concrete answer to the question "Where is my money going?" With FRANK Water, you can be assured that your money is going to an enormous, pressing issue in developing nations today. Without clean water, people cannot live. With our adventure to Mongolia as a backdrop and driving force, we are committed to raise an awesome amount of money for FRANK Water.

I don't think they've announced the official charities for the next year yet. They still have the old ones on the site. It's driving us over at Team Redheaded Steppe Children crazy! We're chomping at the bit.
